Reiki is a type of energy healing that utilizes the universal life-force energy that exists in us and all around us. The word “Reiki” combines two Japanese words: “Rei,” which means “higher power,” and “Ki,” which is life force energy.
This universal life force energy has been known to exist since the dawn of humanity. In Chinese culture, it is called Qi (pronounced chi); in the Hindu religion, it’s called Prana; in ancient Greece, it’s called Pneuma; in Hawaiian culture, it’s called Mana; in Tibetan Buddhism, it’s called Lüng; in Hebrew culture, it’s called Ruah. A Reiki treatment acts as a catalyst to help your body heal itself from within. A treatment often feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you.
Reiki has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to promote recovery, general well-being, relaxation, and to relieve the negative side effects of other types of medically-invasive treatments.
